Erik Kegler graduated The Florida Institute of Design in 1997 with honors and began working for acclaimed designer Jack Phillips in Palm Beach, Florida. Later, Erik founded his own design firm, Erik Jason Interiors, which after four years retains clients in five states. Erik's clients have included the head of Goldman Sachs Investment firm, the President of the University of Dayton, as well as the principals for the Kettering Institute. A belief that the individual dictates the design stands behind all of his work, making each project unique. Erik says, "each client lives differently and wants to feel special and comfortable in their own home; I want to give them each a distinctive environment. It is important in this day and age as a design specialist to push the envelope -- to create new and different homes and offices for clients. I never want my ideas to be stale or overdone."

His interesting use of fabrics and color keep his clients' homes always on the cutting edge of design even though they range from the completely traditional to the eclectic and transitional. Erik uses materials, beads, trims and objects in different and unusual applications to keep each home different and unique. He sees each house and client in unexpected ways, introducing leather to upholster walls, using a bathtub as a foyer table, hand stringing beads for hours for retro drapery. Erik sees objects from different perspectives. Old furniture in new and different fabrics to make each room in a house inviting and unusual. Beyond making an environment innovative, Erik's initiative is to make each space belong to the client. The rooms he influences bring a client's person to life not just express Erik's design. Erik captures the homeowner's essence and brings it into a room. He believes that no client is alike and therefore no space is alike and each project is new and different.

Prior to his career in Design, Erik was educated at New York University and was a principal ballet dancer for Cincinnati, Cleveland, San Jose, and Chicago Ballets; he has also worked extensively in Europe as well as on the West Coast in Film and Video. Erik's versatile lifestyle as well as the discipline and attention to detail that a career in the Arts has afforded him, all show in his diverse and creative design style.
